Jo & Jim 4th August 2007

Here are some photos from Jo and Jim's wedding in St Andrews. The golf was not the main event in St Andrews at the weekend.

What a wedding!!! The only dry day of the week and it was amazing.

Such a lovely couple deserved such an amazing day. Its not very often we get to shoot outdoor weddings in Scotland but this was spectacular. St Andrews Cathedral was the perfect backdrop. The best bit for me was having a beautiful couple that were up for anything and going onto the beach gave us the opportunity to be a bit different.

I will get a slideshow up when I get a sec. Its going to be another very busy week.

Very Generous and Thoughtful

You may remember Karen and Barry from the blog about their esession.

Well it is only a month till their big day and we got together yesterday to go over some details.

I was blown away when they presented me with a gift for our baby (who is due in a couple of months). Karen said that "books are the one thing kids don't grow out of."

It really was very thoughtful and generous. It is moments like this that make me truly love what I do. To not only be honoured to be part of their big day but to also be given gifts by your client is very special.

Thanks guys.

Scouts

Last night was a scouting mission to Culcreuch Castle, Fintry.

Bryan Connor was with me to check out locations for a wedding shoot. Cant miss an opportunity to grab a shot of other photographers.

While we were there, another photography friend, Kenny McLean turned up to join us for a beer. You just cant miss an opportunity to catch up, take some photos and grab a beer :)

Restless Night

Heather is keeping really well. Getting bigger by the day...but keeping well. A lot of you have asked me to keep you up to date more.

Well last night was the first time that 'Junior' gave Heather a really restless night by constantly kicking her just as she was nodding off to sleep.

I thought seeing our baby on the ultrasound was emotional but when I first felt the baby kick my hand on Heathers belly...wow..that was amazing.

Guess its just the start of things to come. Heather thinks its gonna be like the picture below.

Note from AMJ: Had to edit this post to make it clear that I did not take the picture below. Some of you have asked how I got this amazing shot. Its not my shot...its not Heather.....and its not real. Its quite a famous fake photoshoped image of the net :)

Still busy getting the nursery organised, now that we have agreed on a colour scheme :)

Engagement Shoot with a difference

Here are some shots from an engagement shoot with Barry & Karen.

Shidushi Barry Kerr runs the Tiger and Dragon Martial Arts Acadamy in Glasgow along with his fiancee Karen Gunn who is an instructor at the Acadamey. They teach Kung Fu, Bushido, Kendo and kickboxing, so I was on my best behaviour during the shoot. Especially as Barry had requested some shots of him with a sword and Karen with a gun (Gunn) :)

It was a great shoot. They are both great to photograph and are very much in love. Despite the serious look of the martial art shots we had a lot of fun and they both are very relaxed in front of the camera.

I can't wait to photograph their wedding in September at the Glenskirlie. Barry is a Buddhist and the wedding will have some unusual elements. Just like their engagement shoot.

Thanks guys.

I will post their engagement shoot slideshow shortly. Stay Tuned.

Heather is looking fantastic. She is truly flourishing. She has been keeping really well.

We are both so happy.

Someone better tell the kid to get use to having its photo taken.

Thanks everyone for all your well wishies and congratulations. We both feel so blessed.

Now time to get on with the DIY.

Coming Along Nicely

The new Glenskirlie Castle, Banknock is really begining to look awesome. Its really taking shape and it will not be long till they are welcoming there first Bride and Groom to the Castle.

Glenskirlie House is already one of the top locations in the country to get married and the Castle will just build on that reputation. It will be an incredible addition to the wedding location market in Scotland.

Glenskirlie is our favourite location to photograph. We are currently offering a 10% discount to couples who are getting married at the Glenskirlie in 2007/2008.

Met the amazing Ana Cruzalegui today at a fashion shoot for Scragg.

As well as providing stunning make up to the film and fashion industries, she is an amazing bridal makeup artist.

If your looking for something truly special, but above all professional, for your wedding day look no further than Dirt.

Its got to also be one of the coolest names for a Makeup & Styling Company.

Overexposed Exhibition

As President of Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Photographic Society I have been working, together with our members and North Lanarkshire Council to create a showcase of our groups work.

OVEREXPOSED is an exhibition featuring 40 images from 19 photographers covering a diverse range of subjects.

Thanks to everyone, both at NLC and CKPS, for making this a reality in such a short time scale.

Ryan Jack Carmody

My friend's Elena and Bill Carmody have a new baby boy called Ryan Jack Carmody.

How did I find out? Well she sent me a bar of Hershies Chocolate. I have known Elena since I went to America in 1990. The Chocolate bar actually reads 'here he is'. Pretty cool. Americans have some cool ways of doing things.

On the back it has all the details about little Ryan.

Cograts to both Elena and Bill and of course big brother Will.

Miss you guys!!!

X'mas Shopping

Christmas is always a time for tradition. Heather and I have a tradition I look forward to every year. We always finish our Christmas shopping by spending the day in Callender. Its a great place to go get some last minute shopping but more importantly for us its where we get our Christmas Spirit.

We always leave Callender feeling really full of the Christmas Spirit and I am always delighted to have the shopping over and done with.

Tis the season to be JOLLY

Its always a great feeling to recieve something completey unexpectedly. My great friend Sammi Cattaneo sent us a lovely X'mas decoration in the post from Syracuse NY. She wrote that she 'saw this in the store and just had to buy it' for me.

Looking at the postage Sam paid more than 3 times the decorations value just to send it to me.

Friends are one of the most important things in my life and some like Sam don't nearly get enough of my time as they deserve but little things like this decoration just brings everything into perspective. Friendship is just as much about being in each others thoughts as it is about being in each others homes.

Thanks Sam. I miss you.

To all my friends, near and far, have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
